What are the defects?

When excessive load is applied to the steering wheel, the steering wheel hub may crack or break.
The driver may experience steering wheel vibration and noise.

What are the hazards?

If the steering wheel hub cracks or breaks, the driver may lose control of the vehicle, possibly leading to a collision with the risk of injury to vehicle occupants and bystanders and risk of damage to property.

What should consumers do?

Owners of affected vehicles will be notified of the recall and asked to contact a Renault dealer to arrange for inspection and repair of their vehicle, if necessary. Any repairs will be free of charge.
