I have found almost without fail the recirculating are not great for smokey cooking and many times had needed to kill the smoke detectors until the air was fairly smoke free. Ducted however almost never presents this problem and why we now insist on ducted.

Is this tendency to set off alarms tested? or is it worth even looking into?
