Ramsay Private Hospital Payment Practices

A neighbour recently had a procedure at a Ramsay Private Hospital…

Despite her specialist telling her she would be there for only 2 nights, the hospital insisted that she pay for 3 nights, and as she did not have private health insurance, she had to pay $7,500 in advance with her credit card.

She was discharged after only 1 night, and when she inquired about the refund of the $5,000 she had overpaid, she was told she would have to wait until the account was finalised, following which the balance would be paid to her by cheque which she would then have to wait for her bank to clear.

Too bad if she needed the money to live on.

Any ethical organisation would either get a deposit approved for the credit card as some car rental companies do, or debit the card on a daily basis.

What a bottom-feeding bunch of grubs.

Oh Dear! Not what any caring person might consider fair or reasonable.
Been there even as a private patient, although it is only the copayment you need to pay in advance, much less ouch factor! I recollect a direct deposit or credit to card for any unused nights.

Does the apparent lack of principle extend to all who hold shares in Ramsay Health?
$11Billion reasons to ask this question.
