- Cleaning laptop and tablet screens
- Cleaning leaked toner from the drum of a laser printer
Keep in microwave as liner; Wiping out washing machine after use to remove hair/moisture/gritty bits
Couple of extra ones from me…
-
Drying seeds to temove moisture (such as tomato or pawpaw).
-
Germinating seeds.
- Wiping hands after washing and before inserting and removing my ortho-k contact lenses (using hand towels carries the risk of tranporting previous user’s germs and/or fluff into the eye)
I also use paper towels for
- a handkerchief - a decent size, strong and folds nicely inside the pocket
- serviettes for young children
- soaking up excess moisture from sliced tomatoes before putting them in a sandwich / hamburger – place the slices on half of a sheet or two, fold over the other half and dab
Yes, my cast iron and carbon steel frying pans and woks love paper towels. I use them in seasoning (being careful not to set them alight or burn the fingers on hot oil) and to wipe them clean of fats and oils after cooking - no detergent shall ever be applied to corrupt the seasoning.
Which paper towels perform the best – and which are the worst? Let’s delve into the CHOICE labs and find out.
