Outdoor BBQ Rangehood

Hi
Hoping to get some advice and recommendations on an outdoor BBQ rangehood. Does anyone have one that works really well or anyone in the industry. Im looking at buying a 1500mm wide one. The last one I had just did not do the job. Have spent considerable time doing some research.

Thanks
David

Hi @David28, welcome to the community.

BBQs produce significant smoke, hot air and other emissions which may exceed the capacity of most domestic type rangehoods.

It might be better to look at commercial type extractor fan systems, like those used in commercial kitchens. These can be custom made or standard off the shelf types. Try searching for commercial kitchen exhaust fans or commercial kitchen extraction canopy for local suppliers.

Check that the airflow (exhaust volumes) are suitable for a BBQ when shopping. Being a commercial type product, the seller should be able to confirm suitability.

Another factor with a commercial one is noise. Check that this won’t be an issue if using outdoors in a residential area, close to neighbours.

I have an older QASAIR indoor hood with dual exhaust fans. I give it top marks.

They also have an outdoor range, maybe worth a look.

Thanks… I did get one price for commercial one over 7K. A bit much for for a outdoor rangehood lol. Hard to find places in Newcastle who make them or willing to make one for a domestic residence. Hoping to get some reviews on instore rangehoods that actually work well.

I bought my outdoor rangehood from https://www.agradefinish.com.au/. It’s very quiet with the fans being mounted on the roof rather than within the rangehood. It has sufficient capacity to reliably remove the smoke from my BBQ. I have the AGF1200 Pro but they also have a 1500mm and can make custom sizes and designs also. The build quality is also very good compared to what I saw in the specialised stores.

Bull BBQ’s make a decent one with good air movement for price.
