Orange Juice recall (not)

Purchased 2 litre Romeos own brand Orange Juice last week. Use by date 27/`12/2019. Opened yesterday am. This am bottle blown up and ready to burst OJ festering inside. Took back to Romeos for a refund and was informed that it was “a bad batch and all bottles Romeos OJ with this use by date taken from shelves”. There are many Romeos throughout Aust - why was this product not subject to a national recall. I suggested I thought they should do a recall and the health authorities to investigate the manufacturer. I was told they had 3 other returns at this store. It is not good enough to just remove them from the shelves at this particular store. They didn’t even recall locally. To add insult - I had to pay a further 10c for the change to another brand. Local ACCC closed but will follow on Monday. In light of the Nippys scare some years ago, would suggest everyone return Romeos brand until the source is investigated.
