I have just received the third scam email over the last few weeks, all of which showed the senders as users at optusnet.com.au.
The first 2 had a link in the message whilst today’s scam had a zip file attached.
The email addresses are all legitamate as I sent them my standard scammer reply, none of which bounced.
Perhaps the entire Optus email customer base has been hacked, so if you are a user, proceed with extreme caution.
Thanks, Fred. I have continual issues with the NBN internet and land line. Now the internet has been fixed, the land line still not working and Optus is saying my land line is working from their end, even though I keep saying my end is not, despite the incoming ringing! Anyway, I think their internet webmail is in limbo. I have to log in with www.optus.com.au, not the usual link optus webmail. I am guessing it is down due to the scams.
