Naming competition - CHOICE awards special

Many people know CHOICE best for calling out Shonky businesses and practices, and unfortunately we’ve seen plenty of this during the COVID-19 outbreak. HOWEVER, before we get to the Shonkys later in the year, we’re planning to to do a one-off set of awards that recognise some of the good business behaviour we’ve seen in response to the current crisis.

We are in the early planning stages, but to give you an idea we are thinking that we would include local and national businesses both big and small, recognising things like great specials and discounts or behaviour that has particularly helped the vulnerable or those in need. We want you all to be involved in this process, and that starts with what we should name these awards. So, do you have any suggestions? Please leave them below.

P.S if you have an early nomination, drop them into this thread.

CHOICEest Award or CHOICE Choicest Award

I can just imagine this type of conversation “I am in awe of your Awed” It would be a direct opposite of something like “You got a Shonky I am just shocked”.

So many great ideas already. :slightly_smiling_face:

The ‘Consumer Responsible Business‘ Choice Business Award.

It would be great to see the awards distributed across a number of different businesses, perhaps by categories. Small retailer, large retailer, local business, financial service provider, travel agent/business.

After @mrafferty posted the topic COVID-19 Poor Business Behaviour, @TheBBG posted the topic COVID-19 Good Business Behaviour.

Perhaps we should also have a naming competition for poor business behaviour?

I will kick it off with a few suggestions.

“The Grubs”

“The Grubbies”

“The Bottom Feeders”

“The Charlatans”

“How Low Can You Go?”

“Below Belief”.

What do you reckon @BrendanMays?
