Mobile Phone Change Pin Scam

I had a highly suspicious message appear on my mobile yesterday, as follows.

“The system has detected abnormality in your account, for the security of your account, please change your password immediately.”

“Swipe To Verify”.

The “Swipe To Verify”. appears in a shaded box with an arrow indicating to swipe to the right.

Strange that there is no reference to the sender or who the “account” is with, but I assume that I have somehow picked up a trojan which is designed to get security details.

I have never run a malware or virus scan on a mobile before.

Can anyone suggest a good program, preferably free?

AVG among other mainstream virus protection providers offer free Virus protection for mobiles.

They also have iOS packages as well…there are others but these are just two easy to find ones.

Thanks Graham,

I installed and ran the free AVG. It did not find any problems.

Thanks.

Another useful freebie is Malwarebytes. That version only does manually started scans on a mobile but it looks for a different range of bad things than an AV. The paid version stays active and tries to be pre-emptive.
