Silca Chipolo bluetooth item finder

A small coin size plastic device with a bluetooth interface used to find lost devices when paired with bluetooth items.
The product can be attached to a keyring.

Available in colours red, blue, green, white, black and yellow

The product contains one button battery

What are the defects?

The button battery compartment of the product may not be adequately secured and the batteries may be easily accessible.

What are the hazards?

If young children gain access to the button batteries and ingest them, they may suffer internal burn injuries, which can result in serious illness and even death. In addition, the batteries may pose a choking hazard to young children.

What should consumers do?

Consumers should immediately stop using the product and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. If the product has already been disposed of, consumers are asked to notify LSC Security Supplies so that the safe disposal of the products can be monitored.

Another Button Battery failure that should not have occurred in the first place if fit and proper Laws regarding manufacture and offer of sale of items were in place. They would have at least made it mandatory for goods to be safe BEFORE sale and failure would be much easier to prosecute.
