LG Customer Service

We had an LG dishwasher we purchased in 2001 that was repaired under warranty twice. Main PCB both times. The first failure was only just within the warranty period. LG came to the party for the second failure more than a year later. When it failed in a similar manner for a third time we paid for a service call.

While LG seemed keen to remedy, there is a point where the inconvenience exceeds any goodwill.

We walked away from LG and purchased a Miele. It was still going good as new 10 years on when we moved out. Our current home now has a Miele that is 6 years young. Great service matters less if it’s not required. Sample of one x 2.

We had a PCB board in a Bosch fail just outside the warranty period. Doing a bit of research, some models are prone to moisture getting into the electronics (PCB) which are often located in the dishwasher doors. If the door/electronics enclosure isn’t full sealed or sealed properly at manufacture, steam can enter causing failures…which was the cause of our Bosch to fail. It too k a lot of too and fro with Bosch for them to come to the party…we ended up paying for labour and Bosch provided a new PCB board.

I am now having a similar issue. 13mth old LG front loaded, died mid cycle for no reason. Over 3 weeks for repairer to look at it, i had to purchase a new machine immediately because there was no way we could be without a machine, and laundromat was out of the question. Now 2mths later and still arguing with LG for store credit. Repairer came and had to order parts once they found it was one of the main electrical parts that had failed, it will still be over 2 weeks before they get out here apparently. Will never ever buy anything LG ever again after this experience with poor customer service from them. They say they will get back to you within 2 business days and it never happens.
