This afternoon, my wife received a call purporting to be from 02 8091 0697 which she did not answer.
The caller left a voice message with the usual arrest scam waffle.
Being such a courteous person, I have been trying to return the call with the 1831 override code before the phone number so it displays as a private number, and was intending to offer the caller some free advice.
However, despite many attempts so far, the call is disconnected as soon as it is answered.
Perhaps they suspect calls from private numbers may be a scam.
Nonetheless, I will keep on trying so as to give the scammer something to do.
