What are the defects?

Responsible regulator

Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is the responsible regulator for this recall.

Lucky that consumers do not need to flat pack them and return to the stores.

This caught my attention as a ‘Yahoo News’ item published on Apple News dated 23rd Sept 21! See below.

A second observation. Is offering longer support offering a genuine solution customers should accept for the shrinking shelves, or a cheaper way out for IKEA?

Should IKEA have offered new shelves that don’t shrink in exchange for the old shelves. Return freight at IKEA’s cost?

And, yes, it’s more a reflective comment than one that will make a consumer difference. Hopefully it encourages some to think carefully about what is an acceptable resolution to a recall.
