Privacy International looked into what some Menstruation apps are sharing with others including Facebook. While some of the following report’s information is from earlier this year the risks may be what a user may have already shared let alone what they may still be sharing.
Some of the data some of these apps ask for and share are some very intimate and sensitive information about a person’s lifestyle including in some cases whether unprotected or protected sex occurred and when. Haven’t told your family yet that you are pregnant well Facebook and others may already know!
The problems highlighted in this report may also be of similar privacy concern across many other apps if they use the Facebook Software Developer Kit (SDK).
