How effective are sonic animal/termite deterrents?

An article regarding snake repelling devices which do not work.

Perhaps thay were made with too much snake oil.

How to keep Snakes out of your home?

It may be worth investing in a guard snake! They do take a little effort to train, however they are very low maintenance. No oil required, although junior here is still learning the ropes. Weā€™ve a couple of red belly blacks that do the perimeter patrol, however they are relatively fast moving and a little camera shy. I think their gloss black coats very stylish, offsetting their crimson red shirtfront. Not to be trifled with though.

Also much more effective than a ā€˜Do Not Knockā€™ sticker.

P.S.
Late July, for anyone who thinks snakes hibernate. Certainly not in SE Qld and further north.

We have sampled several different deterrent devices including a sonic repellant device way back. If it had any effect at all, it must have sounded like a disco party to every Asian house gecko in the street. Not much else small around with all those geckos, might be the only win?

If they worked even remotely Pest control companies and snake re-locators etc would be out of business.

Kogan are selling these now. Iā€™d nominate them for a Shonky if nominations were open.

As noted previously a total waste. Kogan deserve more than a shonky for foisting such garbage on desperate or wishful customers.

The one sonic detergent I can vouch for!

A loud piercing feminine style scream followed by stammering, name calling and optionally a guide to the ID of the critter. My name usefully figures prominently in the alarm.

Certainly effective as a sonic repellent as Mark has become quite adept at expelling said plate sized huntsman, rodent, or other to a new home more appropriate.

We have had these at work for years. Snakes like to cuddle up to them when they are relaxing in the sun.

The AntiBio Technologies use sound frequencies to control the Termites.

Does any body know how good it is?

A number of posts in this topic are about sonic repellents for all sorts of creatures.

There is another topic on termites that might be interesting.
