My Funeral has been paid for with Funeral Bonds. Now there is approximately $3000:00 dollars in my account.
Why can’t I have this refunded & that account closed?

It is worth reading the terms and conditions associated with the bond. It is likely that the funeral bonds can’t be ‘cashed in’ until the policy holder dies.
Funeral bonds are different to say bank bonds or life insurance which has a residual value should one wish to recover the residual value at some stage before maturity.
The Department of Veteran Affairs has some general information on funeral bonds…
and states…
A funeral bond provides benefits only upon the death of the nominated person and cannot be accessed earlier.
