Food Safety: Double Dipping Versus The 5 Second Rule

An interesting article regarding food safety.

The researcher clearly states that the test compared an unbitten cracker with an already bitten cracker.

I watched a documentary some years ago about the “5 second rule” in which they tested samples dropped on the floor after 1, 2 3 4 and 5 seconds but failed to provide any value for the control sample.

All the samples were unsafe to eat after being on the floor but they may have already been unsafe before being dropped.

Double dipping is to be discouraged, that’s why caterers tend to do one bite finger food.
