The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has undertaken a review of the safety of the ingredient Artemisia , and has formed the view that the safety of listed medicines containing Artemisia species may pose a risk when used by consumers who are pregnant, or likely to become pregnant.
What are the hazards?
Medicines containing Artemisia may cause illness if taken by pregnant women or women who intend to become pregnant and may cause injury to unborn children.
What should consumers do?
Consumers should not use the product if they are pregnant, or likely to become pregnant. Consumers should return the product to their place of purchase for a full refund.
