Did you know it is legal to run a business without having a way for customers to contact you?

My understanding is registered businesses in Australia need to provide the registered address of the business for an application to proceed. I also understand the same applies for ABNs. This is so notices and other communicationd from regulators can be issued and received. It also ensures there is no anomymity when running a business.

While some businesses use accountants, lawyers or other non-business premise addresses as their registered address, it can be a starting point to track down business details for contact purposes. Details of registered businesses can be searched (albeit with a search fee for detailed searches or for free for basic searches).
