What are the defects?

The wall thickness of the drop bars on the bike’s handles may be too thin and the clamping screws where the drop bars connect to the integrated brake and shifting lever may be tightened (or re-tightened) too tightly. This could cause the drop bar to crack or break.

What are the hazards?

If the drop bar cracks or breaks, steering control may become loose, increasing the risk of an accident or injury.
