Bunnings Products Security

We needed to buy some hydrochloric acid to clean some cement off a new concrete block retaing wall section we had built so we went to Bunnings last week and we were told it was near the security gatehouse at the exit in the timber section.

There was a locked wire cage with only 5 litre drums in it so we asked the gatekeeper who walked over to another locked wire cage which had 0.5 l, 1 l, 5 l & 20 L containers.

We said we were not sure if we needed 0.5 L or 1 L so the staff member put his hand between the wire mesh squares and grabbed one of each.

When I commented that the locked cage was not much use, he said that they used to just have them stored on the top of the cage.

Bunnings also have lockable sliding mesh doors in front of the stocks of cans of spray paint but they do not lock them as Masters used to.

A bit like closing the barn door after the horse has bolted.
