Murdoch’s media and Google have funded a ‘journalism academy’ at Uni Melbourne (business school).
Even if you can beat ‘them’ why not train them in your way of thinking? Finding an eager university to help? Priceless. It is a sad state when the (arguably) top university in the land signs onto something like this.
A corollary of this is universities offering courses in chiropractic studies when there is no valid scientific evidence to substantiate it works, and lots of evidence it causes harm and even death.
Universities are selling their souls in return for injections of cash. Having these courses under the umbrella of a university gives a veneer of credibility to something that does not deserve credibility.
