I am too, but it could be a temperature where the expansion of the element causes the short.
Interesting idea, it could be thermal expansion of the chassis or another part pinching a wire.
Depending on the condition of the oven overall and how much you like the model it may not be cost effective to pay an electrician to diagnose and cure the problem.
Hi everyone who helped/answered my messages about our oven. I have switched it on - 150-160oC for a week, Only while I was home! I am so delighted, have now used it very anxiously & gradually up to 200oC. It is now working at 200oC + a bit Perfectly!!! Cooked with it up to 1 1/2 hours 4 times with absolutely no trouble. Very happy, thank you all.
Fantastic news. It sounds like it may have been moisture in the element which you have managed to remove. Fingers crossed for its future use.
