‘Always’ and ‘never’ are absolutist words when ‘usually’ is appropriate.
All things being equal or close enough I try to preference local content. However if the local is $2 and an import is on sale for $1 I will usually go for the import if I need it now. If I don’t need it for cooking ‘now’ and just need a spare I’ll try to wait for the local product to go on sale.
