I bought a Kia Carnival in 2017 and it came with a 7 Year warranty. I recently had an issue with the media head unit screen not working it at all and booked it in for repair. We’ve come across a couple of recent examples of Apple employees telling consumers with faulty products that the Australian Consumer Law gives them a 2 year warranty on Apple products, and to get any more they should have bought an extended warranty (which is incorrect).

Belkin is possibly the ‘tip of the iceberg’ when it comes to companies advertising their products as having a lifetime warranty, without providing any information about that this means.

The bottom line is that it is within a business’ right to provide you a refurbished item if that is included in their terms and conditions, as long as it is like for like or better.
