From the Beauty Lab of nutrimetics

Skin DNA is responsible for the reproduction, repair and protection of skin cells. The healthier your skin DNA – the healthier your complexion will be. The two major contributing factors to skin-ageing are UV damage and free radicals.

Juvefoxo (‘Immortal’ Peptide 51) is an active ingredient inspired by nature to repair genetic damages, and maintain the cell functions. Nutrimetics has developed an anti-ageing breakthrough using a combination of actives with a cellular renewal formula, protecting against environmental factors, while plumping and firming the skin.

It sells for $86-00 RRP but at the moment I can purchase it with a Buy 1 Get 1 Free, so I am stocking up my supplies…

I signed up as a Consultant so that I can purchase all of my nutrimetics products at 20% Discount, and as I use all of the Platinum Anti-ageing Products this makes good sense.
After 1 months usage, several people asked me if I had “some work done” on my face - this is a good enough recommendation to me that the products are doing what they should! Lol - it is always lovely to get comments from other women AND men who have noticed that you are looking younger!

In saying all of that, I found this evidence to prove the efficiency of Juvefoxo

Juvefoxo™ Exhibits Significant Reduction of UV-mediated DNA Damage

Published on 2013-10-24. Author : SpecialChem

Juvefoxo™ is among new active ingredients introduced during the recent edition of In-cosmetics Exposition in Paris in 2015. It is a novel peptide directed at minimizing the accumulation of DNA damage, which can slowly downregulate genes in charge of longevity, quality and functionality of cells.

  • Cell rejuvenation over 10 years
  • Key element in preserving the vital code
  • Decreases DNA damage in vivo

During aging there is an accumulation of damage in our cells due to environmental and metabolic processes. As a result, the skin loses functionality and its properties, leading to an aged appearance. The new peptide acts by mimicking the activity of FOXO3a, a subfamily of the Forkhead box (FOX) transcriptional factors which is key to maintaining genomic integrity. It represents a novel mechanism of action to the stimulation of DNA repair which has proven efficacy in delaying senescence. Primary human dermal fibroblast (HDFa) from a donor aged 55 recovered in vitrothe characteristics of cells over 10 years younger after 24h of treatment with 0.01 mg/mL Juvefoxo™. The senescence-associated galactosidase activity is one of the most commonly used biomarkers of cell aging. The reduction of senescent cells was statistically significant, up to 64.5% higher compared to the same non-treated cells.

The activity of this new peptide has been tested both in vitro and in vivo, in the latter case showing a statistically significant effect in the reduction of UV-mediated DNA damage, 16.6% greater than irradiated non-treated cells after 24h and 4.3 times greater compared to irradiated cells treated with placebo.

The results show that this peptide can contribute to preserving genomic integrity while helping cells to remain younger for longer. It is ideal for incorporating in global anti-aging treatments as well as in specific facial and body formulations to enhance cellular protection, stress resistance, cellular longevity and vitality.

After all of my wonderful compliments, I shared my knowledge of the products with many friends, who have gone on to purchase and try them for themselves.
As nutrimetics offers a money-back guarantee on all of their products, they were all happy to give it a go, and as yet, I have had no returns, and now have multiple customers who are purchasing their anti-age creams and products from me, which in turns makes my purchases much cheaper.

This is NOT an advertisement for nutrimetics, as I do not conduct “parties” or any other such thing, I just give my friends a monthly specials leaflet each month and if they want to order something they can let me know. I just wanted to let others know what Anti-ageing cream and products I use that have proven to me their effectiveness, and that others have tried it too with great results.
Cheers Natalie

I’m astonished to have learned that Juvefoxo is an ingredient ’ Inspired’ (?) by a jelly fish …’ the unique power of the Immortal Jellyfish to self-rejuvenate has been harnessed and used to create the skin care ingredient Juvefoxo…’
How amazing!:flushed:

Thanks for the educational content @grahroll.

Lots of hydrogen and nitrogen and a dash of sulphur. Looks a lot like fertiliser for the face with those three elements.

I’ve spent most of a lifetime attributing quality of life to ‘karma’, while all along it’s simply down to wrinkles.

Thank you for the extensive research on Juvefoxo , @grahroll.
I’m glad that it doesn’t have anything to do with a jellyfish: the poor thing wouldn’t have been able to move in the water!

A couple of times I participated in product testing for a company that makes these creams. Firstly I must say that I was impressed that they took objective measurements to test the effectiveness of the products (they had some quite sophisticated photographic and scanning equipment) so that they weren’t dependent on my perception of the product performance. So many times in advertisements you see claims such as “9 out of 10 women said their skin felt/looked better…” which is not a measure of actual improvement.
Only people aged 45 or under were able to participate in the product trial. They didn’t say why, but I wonder if it the reason is that it is difficult to get any meaningful, lasting, improvement after this age.

Cosmetics and skin care products are over all designed to benefit the outer layer of skin, the Epidermis, and among these ingredients are: zinc, petroleum jelly, dimethicone, glycerin.
Most of the Choice tested moisturisers include these.

However, the Dermis is the layer of skin responsible for wrinkles, the biggest signs of ageing, and to have any effect at all, a skin product will have to penetrate that layer of the skin.
Some products use ‘ Chemical enhancers ‘ (Sulphates) to break down the skin barrier but they can damage the skin in the long run.
Certain Peptides can cause temporary disruption in the skin barrier to allow chemicals to penetrate.
Also, Liposomes, a form of nanotechnology
allows chemicals to penetrate all the way to the Dermis.
Very effective ways include: injections, micro-dermabrasion, chemical peeling.

I doubt that any product sold over the counter, as opposed to one which needs a script from a dermatologist, would be very effective, especially with those containing Retin A and AHA which pose a risk of irritation, greater as the concentration increases, and would need a skin specialist monitoring.

We can win battles with anti-aging products, but in the end we’ll inevitably going to lose the war, and we all know it,
and we’ll all get used to it :pensive:

Who cares they are just short term band aids. If you really care about yourself and want to look younger if your middle age and beyond you drink at least a couple of liters of reverse osmosis or distilled water a day, eat mostly a plant based diet and minimize the carbs so you dont overtoxinate yourself, dont over eat either. If you need evidence for that, then theres little hope for you. Keeping those critters inside of you on the backfoot too is another big one and arguably the main one which is another story

You could tell “someone you know” that I use this lovely cream too. I buy it at half price and always on the lookout at outlets. I too was told I look 10 years younger than I really am - which at my great age (75) was a real boost. It came from my podiatrist so I took it as well meant!

I believe that there are only four things that can make your skin look younger:

  1. Drink plenty of water.
  2. Always use sunscreen, even on cloudy/cold days.
  3. Maintain a healthy weight.
    and
  4. Cut down on sugar.

I am not sure if I agree with this one…putting on hypodermic fat can remove wrinkles…think blowing up a balloon…the higher the air filling, the tighter the surface making less wrinkles associated with weight gain.

Maybe significantly losing weight could increase one’s perceived age.

At the end of the day, one can’t delay aging. It is like taxes and death…something one can’t avoid. Spending copouus amount of money for an elixir or miracle cream serves one purpose, filling the pockets of those who ‘prophetteer’ anti-aging cures at the expense of those trying to seek a cure.

Hate to break this to you, but a recent study found that beer goggles are a myth (yes, I am over-simplifying their findings in case the reader has had too much to drink).

Short answer? Mostly no.

Longer answer? There is no evidence for most of them. Where there is evidence, it is largely that the creams exfoliate - which may leave you looking ‘younger’ for a little while but removes the top - protective - barrier of dead skin cells and leaves the underlying skin more prone to damage and infection.

And yes, I do feel guilty linking to a LiveScience article.

If you really want to keep your ‘youthful good looks’, stay out of the sun and put on a bit of weight. My (anecdotal) experience is that people who are over-weight tend to look younger than those who are under-weight.

Since I’ve linked to LiveScience, here’s another source that suggests moisture is the key in all these creams:

It is also important to note that you need pretty small molecules to actually get anything past the skin’s surface - and most products that are available simply sit on the surface and look shiny.

Please note to be able to see the benefits of anti ageing cream follow these steps:

  1. Start with a clean bathroom or other mirror with good lighting.
  2. Take a photo of your reflection in the mirror with good lighting.
  3. Use the recommended amount of the anti ageing cream and spread it evenly over the mirror. Do this every day for a week.
  4. . Take a photo of your reflection in the mirror with good lighting every day.

I guarantee the photos will have you looking more radiant and with less wrinkles.

Instead of buying anti ageing cream, for a lot less cost the same second photo effect can be achieved by using one of the following techniques:

  1. put a piece of cling film over the camera lens. or
  2. use a soft focus lens if you have one, or
  3. spreading a thin film of petroleum jelly over the lens. (This is a bit difficult to clean off, so only use it on a removable filter that can be cleaned with soap and water.)

Don’t worry about removing it, @gordon,

In relation to guarantees, not one anti aging cream etc guarantees that the product works. I suspect that they don’t as they can’t make such promises and it would kill their profitability when customers request refunds when the product is found not to work.

It would he interesting how the Australian Consumer Law would treat products which are knowingly sold which aren’t fit for purpose or don’t deliver on the marketing claims. All the packaging I have seen don’t provide e definitive wording in relation to the outcomes of the product use…there are many weasel words to provide the manufacturers lawyers a ‘free get out of gaol’ card.

Maybe those who use such products should be exercising their rights under the ACL when the products don’t deliver on many of their anecdotal claims.

I also recall a cosmetic retail store owner many years ago (from recollection it was Red Earths owner at that time…but could be wrong) saying that she didn’t waste her money on products with anti aging claims as they don’t work…instead when she used products they were selected based on feel, smell and how they leave the skin. This is possibly the best endorsement of anti aging products from someone who should know.

Unfortunately many try and fight progressing down the time line to try and make themselves look younger. This is possibly due to the fashion and retail sector using young models which look even younger than their age. Such places pressure on those who may not be as young to also look younger to stay fashionable and ‘young’.
