What are the defects?

Affected bicycles may not meet the front hub retention requirements of the ‘Trade Practices Act 1974 - Consumer Protection Notice No. 6 of 2004 - Consumer Product Safety Standard: Pedal Bicycles: Safety Requirements’.

The front wheel may dislodge from the front fork if the Quick Release Skewer is not properly tightened and secured.

What are the hazards?

If this occurs while the user is riding the bicycle, there is an increased risk of an accident or serious injury to the rider.

What should consumers do?

Consumers should stop using the bicycle immediately and contact their local 99 Bikes retailer to have a replacement fork fitted, a free upgrade to the Pedal Cavalier, or a full refund.
